Mandranova Oil Mill
The olive-groves are located at an altitude of 100-200 metres above sea level. The climate and the soil are very favourable. The aim of Giuseppe and Silvia D i Vincenzo, the owners, is quality. They supervise all the production cycle All the products are reserved to exacting and refined customers, who like good food and good look. Their dedication and passion for nature allows obtaining high quality products for demanding and expert customers.
The trees are irrigated periodically, because in some period of the year the climate is very dry; the picking is made by hand or by machines that don't damage the olives.
The cultivation is in full respect for the natural environment with limited use of pesticides
There are about 12.000 olive's trees, of different cultivar: some very old trees, cultivar Ogliarola, Passalunara, Tunna and Biancuzza; other younger and selected cultivar like Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla and Cerasuola
From the last week of September until the 20 of October, it is possible to attend the picking of olives.
The olives, arranged in boxes, are pressed immediately by cold pressing machine.
Then, the oil is kept in inox containers for the time needed before the bottling.
