Favara
Favara was inhabited along the centuries by the Romans, the
Arabs, and Normans, who left several tracks of their passage.
We will see its old centre, the Castle Chiaramonte (the ancient
hunting reserve of Frederick II), the Cathedral and its historical
palaces.
We will visit the town also on the occasion of the Festival
of the Paschal Lamb. This event will offer us the possibility
to admire the local producers’ mastery in creating the
hand-made lambs of almond paste and pistachio.
At Favara they once made a Paschal Lamb worthy of the Guinness
World Records weighing no less than 202 kg.
