Palma di Montechiaro
The old town centre of Palma, full of atmosphere, reflects
the Sicilian culture of the 17th century and transmits a deep
feeling of religiousness.
Palma is recorded as the Town of The Gattopardo (The Leopard),
the novel written by Tomasi di Lampedusa, set in the Bourbon
Sicily.
We will visit the places mentioned in the novel, through an
evocative reading of some passages, the Benedictine Monastery
lived in by enclosed nuns, where it is possible to buy almond
sweets hand-made by them, the Palazzo degli Avi (Ancestors’
Palace), the ancient seventeenth-century oil mill, the Castle.
