If you find yourself wandering in the area
don’t miss the opportunity to pay a visit to the
“Parco delle Mardonie”, one of the most
marvellous and characteristic towns in
Western Sicily.
Once there you should try to
meet one of the most distinctive personalities
of the island’s restaurant scene; Giuseppe
Carollo. This man looks like everybody’s
childhood friend, and he will be sure to keep
you in the restaurant for a little night cap,
accompanied by a couple of bottles from his
wine cellar. But he truly gives his all when in
front of his ovens. This born and bred Tuscan
rustles up with innate skill and great experience
ancient flavours of a land that he loves and
feels is his own, with traditional produce from
other regions ( porcini mushroom patties,
fresh ewe’s ricotta and radicchio from Treviso).
